The Vision Help Network provides nationwide referrals for optometric vision therapy and related diagnostic services. Members include expert developmental and behavioral optometrists, college professors, and the authors of leading textbooks on vision therapy. This web site provides accurate information about vision therapy and guidance for choosing a qualified eye care provider.

10+ non-commercial web sites which provide comprehensive advertising-free vision education and free referrals to the public. Optometrists Network -- helping parents and patients since 1996 -- is supported by an international network of developmental optometrists, including Drs. Hong and Stasko of Family Vision Care and Vision Therapy.


Parents Active for Vision Education (PAVE)
PAVE is a national non-profit education, resource and support organization founded by parents and teachers who know children that benefited from vision therapy. Their mission is to raise public awareness of the crucial relationship between vision and achievement. This link gives phone numbers to local chapters that may be near you and also a national number listed in case a chapter is not in your area. They are a good support group for parents.


College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD)
This organization serves as the certifying body for Doctors in the Optometric specialty called Behavioral/Developmental/Rehabilitative Optometry. If a doctor chooses, he/she may apply for COVD fellowship after successfully completing a Residency program in Vision Therapy or Binocular Vision or after three years as a Behavioral Clinician. Fellowship is difficult to obtain and is only granted after interviews, publishing and knowledge testing is completed and accepted by a committee. Fellows are certified specialists in vision therapy.


Optometric Extension Program (OEP) Foundation
The OEP Foundation is an international non-profit organization that serves the educational needs of behavioral optometrists by providing continuing education credits and provides public information about vision care.


American Optometric Association (AOA)
The American Optometric principal mission is to improve the quality and availability of eye/vision care for all Americans. A House of Delegates and an 11-member Board of Trustees (elected by the House of Delegates) governs the AOA. The House is composed of representatives of each state association, optometrists in Federal Service and students of optometry. AOA members are dedicated to providing the highest quality eyecare.


Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association International, Inc. (NORA)
NORA was established to provide, network and share information about visual rehabilitation between optometrists, ophthalmologists, physicians, rehabilitation professionals, occupational therapists, educators, psychologists, nurses, etc. for the understanding and treatment of persons who have physical disabilities and/or traumatic brain injury. Their mission is to expand awareness about the visual problems and the needs of those that suffer from traumatic brain injury.





Vision & Learning: A Resource for Parents & Educators
Developed for parents and educators and to increase understanding about how vision and learning are related. Comprehensive in nature and designed to give a "101" course on vision and learning as well as provide other resources to gain knowledge on vision. Developed to fulfill thesis requirements for a Master of Education, Visual Function in Learning Degree at Pacific University and now privately maintained by Mary McMains, O.D., M.Ed.


InfantSEE
InfantSEE® is a public health program designed to ensure that eye and vision care becomes an integral part of infant wellness care to improve a child's quality of life.
