INFANTSEE® WEEK 2010
Have You Had Your Baby’s Eyes Checked?
The first year of life is an important stage for a baby’s developing vision. Problems that aren’t caught early can lead to permanent vision impairment and get in the way of normal child development.
Did You Know?
• Visual development is most dramatic between six and 12 months of age.
• One in 10 American children have undiagnosed vision problems which, if undetected, can lead to permanent visual impairment, developmental
delays, and, in rare cases, life-threatening health risks.
• One in 100 children will exhibit an eye disease.
Throughout the year, local San Mateo County InfantSEE® doctors provide no-cost comprehensive vision assessments to babies between the ages of 6-12 months. This May will be the 6th anniversary of the InfantSEE® program, celebrated the week of May 9th through 13th. The InfantSEE® vision assessment complements a pediatrician’s well-baby check and can prevent a child from needless struggles or vision loss.
